Director of Acquisitions
As Director of Acquisitions at Eastern Real Estate, Brad Takala is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and acquiring investment opportunities, as well as managing investor relations and capital formation. At Eastern Real Estate, Brad leads the execution of investment strategies ranging from core plus to opportunistic across all asset classes, including note purchases, development and land. Brad participates in all facets of the lifecycle of a deal from underwriting to asset strategy and disposition. He also is a member of the Eastern Real Estate Investment Committee.
In addition to possessing a broad knowledge of the national marketplace, Brad is known for his innovative and entrepreneurial approach to sourcing and structuring transactions. He has more than 18 years of experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, and has sourced and closed over $2.5 billion in investments during the course of his career.
Brad was head of acquisitions at The Davis Companies in Boston, and he has served in senior roles at Taurus Capital Markets, and Invesco Real Estate. Most recently, Brad served as Executive Vice President of JLL Capital Markets Group in Dallas, Texas, where he focused on multifamily investment sales. He began his career in commercial real estate at Cushman & Wakefield in San Francisco.
Brad received an MBA in finance from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts in government from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Brad and his wife, Lisa, live in Frisco, Texas and have three daughters. He enjoys coaching lacrosse and volunteering at the North Texas Foodbank.
